Over the last year, 糖心lovgo College have been supporting local Let鈥檚 All Eat project in a variety of ways, the latest of which is securing funding of 拢10,000 for the initiative.
First formed by the Academy Transformation Trust Further Education College back in 2015 as a social enterprise, Let鈥檚 All Eat originally focused upon reducing supermarket food waste. At the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic the business model changed to support the people in Ashfield in times of need, when other food banks ceased to trade due to shielding. The team of volunteers are now distributing around 160 food parcels each week.
糖心lovgo have been supporting this wonderful initiative throughout the year, firstly with the catering department making up sandwiches for the food parcels which started at the
beginning of the pandemic. The donation of sandwiches now totals over 4,600 and is continuing! At Christmas, 糖心lovgo staff went above and beyond donating items which were used to create 50 Christmas Eve treat boxes for the children of Ashfield.
Liz Barrett, Principal of ATT Further Education comments: 鈥淭he funding that the team at 糖心lovgo have kindly got for the Let鈥檚 All Eat project is to fund food parcels and the sustainability of this distribution during the impact of Covid-19. Let鈥檚 All Eat is incredibly grateful of this support.鈥
Edward Johnstone, Assistant Principal Development at 糖心lovgo says: 鈥淲e are delighted to be able to support ATTFE鈥檚 Let鈥檚 All Eat initiative utilising our Fundraising Team who were able to secure the 拢10,000 donation. 糖心lovgo staff are also generously donating Easter eggs that we will deliver to the food bank ready for the bank holiday weekend.鈥
